Piano lesson software is a fantastic way of learning to play the piano. You learn through videos, music theory tutorials, audio tracks and sheet music. Discover how it is a great alternative to traditional lessons and can accelerate your learning.

In a 30 minute traditional lesson with a piano teacher you only get 30 minutes worth of information, once a week. After saying hello, getting settled and playing through last week’s piece, it is actually nearer 20 minutes!

Imagine having a lesson that lasted as long as YOU liked. Imagine having 3 lessons a week. They could take place whenever it suited you. If you had a question, the answer would be instantly available.

Think of the huge benefits of learning at home. There would be no commuting to piano lessons, no parking problems and no petrol costs. If you have small children at home, you will never have to worry about a baby sitter. By learning at home, lessons are available whenever it suits YOU. You can fit it in around your daily schedule.

Your learning will be accelerated by watching the video demonstrations in your Piano Lessons Software again and again. Through your computer, you can see the correct technique, and hear the sound and speed of each new piece.

With traditional lessons, if you are stuck, you will have to wait a week until the next lesson. With Piano Lessons Software your tutor is always with you.

It costs about 90% less than traditional lessons to learn with the Software and actually accelerates your learning.

If you’re like many people, you might regret not having learned how to play the piano when you were young. Or, you might have started to take lessons, but didn’t finish. Whatever the case, it’s important to know that it’s never to too late to tinkle the ivories, and that piano lessons for adults are becoming more common everyday.

Never too late to Learn

Some piano teachers are of the opinion that an adult can learn much faster than a kid. Here are some of the possible reasons for this:

As an adult, you are making a decision to learn. You do it because you want to. Many kids, on the other hand, are coerced into learning an instrument by their parents and lack enthusiasm for the lessons.

Now that you are of independent financial means, you appreciate the value of the instrument and the lessons (however you choose to learn). Subsequently, there is a good chance that you will be more driven to see results from spending your hard-earned cash.

Of course, a child’s brain is primed for learning. However, there is no evidence to suggest that this capability is lost in adulthood. We may think you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but it simple isn’t true.

How to Find Adult Piano Lessons

So, now that you’re convinced that you haven’t left your dreams of becoming a pianist too late, you will need to consider the various methods of learning and which is right for you. As a busy working adult, you may feel that structured lessons with a professional teacher will not fit into your hectic lifestyle. On the other hand, self-teach books are not always the most fun way to learn.

However, there is an alternative. You may want to consider an online course, which will offer you the advantages of visual and audio stimulation at a fraction of the cost of professional tuition. The good news is that there are many online piano courses to be found and most of them provide effective, fun, and reasonably priced forms of learning.

In fact, if you wish to learn a particular genre of piano music, for example jazz, then it is possible to find courses that specialize in the skills required to play this form of music. Moreover, it is possible to find courses that match your skill level, whether that is a complete novice or someone who simply wants to brush up on his or her piano playing skills.

Therefore, if you are interested in finding great piano lessons for adults, it is a good idea to browse the internet and research the options that are available to you.

So, you have made the decision to start acoustic guitar lessons. Learning how to play an instrument can be a rewarding activity in your life. It takes discipline and effort to become really good at learning any skill; playing an instrument is no exception. With the advent of the Internet in recent years, you undoubtedly know that there are many online music programs. Be aware of what you may be getting yourself into, however. No all interactive music programs are equal in terms of quality.

The Internet has made it easy for people to find products that normally would not be available to them. If you lived in a sparsely populated town, finding a person to teach you how to play the acoustic guitar could be difficult. Who would want to drive 25-30 miles one-way just to take a 30 minute lesson? You would have to take into account gas money for your car, as well as what you probably would be charged for lessons. In case you are not aware, today you would be paying at least -20 per half hour lesson. You would also face the possibility that lessons would be at a time in which the teacher had a single open time slot on his/her schedule. How does a Saturday morning lesson at 8:00 sound; and you have a 45 minute commute just to get to the music studio where your instructor provides lessons?

Online programs have grown in quantity, offering lessons on the guitar. Just as with business opportunity sites that promise to make you a millionaire or the shopping site that sells expensive watches for under ; be aware of the fact that there are dishonest people in the world. There are bogus programs that promise to make you into the next Jimmy Page or Eric Clapton, if you take lessons simply by enrolling at their site. Most importantly, be aware of the opportunity to have free lessons, with no strings attached. Most often, these freebies would be a 2-minute video tutorial in which some “teacher” plays the guitar. There is no instruction whatsoever in the video. As you watch the “free” video, you are not taught chord structure or the sequential steps in which you are trying to learn a playing technique to improve your skills on the guitar. You are then made a bogus promise that you would be taught more material; if only you would kindly fork out .95 to purchase a DVD on guitar playing. At that price, would you actually be taught the acoustic guitar? You know, there is a difference between acoustic, classical, folk, and bass guitar. Instead, you are urged to consider this type of offer for what it really is; a scam.

You need to run, not walk away from programs that promise you the moon. Instead, take your time and research interactive guitar lessons programs that have a reputable track record in the industry. Study the music sites that provide legit testimonials from students who have mastered the technique of guitar playing. Find the programs that have teachers who are certified to teach the instrument to students. The legit programs have professional instructors who have earned music degrees, studying the instrument in college. Most teachers would also have experience playing the acoustic guitar in professional bands, as well.

Most legit online guitar programs have tutorial lessons which you can download directly to your computer; all for a monthly charge at around -35. The quality programs also offer the alternative in which you can purchase DVD lessons for around the same fee. If you are worried about money, it really should not be a major concern. A quality guitar program will offer a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with your progress, within a certain time period. Still, be aware that if the program is legit and has a solid reputation; you still need to do your part and put in the effort to practice. I’m sorry, but mastering the skills that it would take to excel on the guitar does not happen by luck or magic.

Acoustic guitar lessons are readily available on the Internet. You just have to be aware of those programs that sound too good to be true. Do not waste your time looking for nothing but free lessons. Instead, there is a reputable online program that has taught tens of thousands of people worldwide how to successfully play the guitar. This program meets all of the requirements that I mentioned in this article. To learn more, please visit this site: http://theplayguitarlessons.info.

Learning to play the guitar can really be simple, easy, and accessible nowadays. With the Internet flourishing with all the necessary information the novice guitarist needs to know, it could only take a short while before he/she starts developing his/her guitar-playing skills. And this is actually what happens today. Most people who want to learn to play the guitar turn to the Internet for its cornucopia of guitar-playing tips and tricks, then from there, take baby steps to gradually becoming a deft player.

But then, there is a loophole in this method. You see, there are too many scattered information online, and they can easily overwhelm and derail the focus of the starting player. As such, questions, which will beg for answers, will soon emerge: What among these lessons should I take first? What lessons should I trust? How can I fully understand these lessons if they keep on mentioning things I do not know? And so forth. And so, what one may regard as an instant way of learning to play the guitar instantly becomes a puzzling experience altogether.

You want to veer away from these mini-obstructions? The best way is to instead take private guitar lessons for beginners. If you go for a guitar lesson program, the tutorials you will have will be organized and systematic. As such, there will be no need to bother yourself on which lessons you should take first or which lessons you should really take. You may say that there are quite a number of online guitar lessons that already set the tutorials for a student player. Yeah, sure. However, they are still limited since these lessons cannot exactly suit your current needs. For instance, what if you have a question that is not covered in the online module? Of course, no matter how frequent you play the video over and over again, it cannot answer your inquiry.

Now if you go for a one-on-one guitar lessons for beginners with a professional instructor, then there will be no problem if ever you have instantaneous questions or if you do not understand parts of the lessons since your mentor can readily provide you with the clarifications: right then and there, fast and easy answers!

Usually, beginning guitar lessons that are done with an expert teacher are also more encompassing than the lessons offered online. The mentor gives lessons in detail, and since he or she speaks from experience, the teacher can provide you ideas that are customarily skipped in online modules: the tricks of the trade, as they say.

Moreover, if you have a mentor to guide and chart your progress, the learning experience will be more fruitful. In fact, the teacher—or his/her method of teaching—can actually serve as added inspiration for you, which can help you reach your goal easier and faster. More often than not, guitar teachers specialize in many guitar genres such as rock, metal, jazz, blues, classical, country, and many others, and this will also be a plus for you. If you have an instructor that can educate you on these guitar styles, then there will be a bigger chance for you to be a totally packaged guitarist. That way, you make yourself stand out among the rest.

“If you want to learn how to play guitar with easy guitar lessons then you have to check this out!”

Okay, so my husband used to play guitar note the term ‘used to’ and he has always wanted to learn how to play the guitar again because he used to really enjoy playing the guitar. So I did some searching and found free guitar lessons from these guys that are terrific musicians.

So, my husband picks up his guitar learns a few things from the ‘Guitar guys’ and voila… he’s feeling pretty comfortable playing the guitar again. Oh, and I have to mention, this was all in ONE evening.

In my opinion this is the best online guitar lesson system you can find. Don’t just take my word for it though you have to look at the site and read the other testimonials. The video quality is excellent and the lessons were easy to follow. In fact I’ve been inspired to see if I could learn how to play guitar myself… I’ll keep you updated on that one.

If you are looking for the best online guitar lessons… these guys from Australia rock. They give you a couple of free guitar lessons so you can try it out before you buy the courses. But I do have to say the price is really affordable and the bonus gifts are worth it.

Before you go out and spend a lot of money on a guitar teacher or class try this first. Come to think of it… that’s exactly what you get from these guys. You just get to stay home, enjoy the lessons on your own time, and have fun getting better and better at playing the guitar.

Well, like I said I can’t totally speak from experience but the difference I’ve seen in my family is worth telling some more people about it. Oh, here’s the site http://playamazinguitar.com

Many people today have begun taking guitar lessons online as an alternative to taking private lessons or enrolling in guitar classes. Online guitar lessons are a great alternative for those who do not have the money to spend on expensive private lessons and for those who prefer to work at their own pace. There are many sites that offer acoustic guitar lessons online. For many people, acoustic guitar is associated with classical music and easy listening. However, acoustic guitar lessons would bring to light the fact that many rock songs and even pop songs use acoustics in their sound. When taking lessons you not only learn how to play the guitar, but you learn about different types of music and genres as well as how to make your guitar speak for you. A song does not have to have words to be a song, nor does it have to have lyrics to speak its point. The way a guitar is played will speak miles more than any lyrics could ever do, when played properly.

Guitars are the key to any music with the exception of classical, behind driving home a point. Although the lyrics help, if the guitar is played too harshly or too soft during a song that requires the opposite, the song does not sound right. When playing a rock song that requires the heavy rhythm of a guitar, if you were to play softly the song loses its point. Taking online guitar lessons could help you learn to speak without ever opening your mouth. Learning to play any instrument will take time and practice; if you are willing to commit to learning it will be a fun journey to take. Some sites offer only audio lessons, while others offer video and audio.

Few sites offer supplemental materials like tabs or chords for a song that can be used along with the lessons online. When looking to take lessons online, find out how long your instructor has been playing. If experience is less than a year, you should continue searching for a better equipped instructor. You wouldn’t want a student teaching your doctor how to operate, and you don’t want a student teaching you how to play when they don’t know how yet. You may have to look around a bit to find an online lesson that suits you and provides quality instruction, but in the end you will be quite satisfied with online guitar lessons as an alternative to private lessons or guitar classes.

I’d like to start by saying that this article is long overdue…Over the past few years, I have discovered a new way of connecting to people that eliminated many of the problems we’ve faced by time and space-online virtual conferencing. Let me share my story:

My field of expertise, which is vocal instruction, requires that I make myself readily accessible and available for the needs of students striving for perfection. Most vocal coaches, or coaches of any type for that matter, set up shop in a teaching studio, music store, or even a corner office of their home. Yes, this includes myself as well. The after-launch protocol usually includes posting ads, listing the “teaching” business in the local phone book, and making local appearances, all for the sole purpose of driving attention to the teaching business. Local music instruction is an extremely valuable service for the surrounding 10-20 mile radius. But what if there were a way to expand your business to cover 57 million square miles (roughly the amount of land mass of the earth) all within the comfort of your own home? Would you do it? Or better yet, what if there were a way for a student to study with a teacher that lived on the other side of the earth, without the aid of three grand, a two-week vacation and priceline.com?

A friend of mine pondered the same question a few years back and invited me to answer this very question. This question was brought upon by our notoriety and success and led me down a road I had never thought to take…let me step back for a moment;

My notoriety as a vocal coach came out of nowhere in 2004 (roughly eight years after I started coaching), simply because of my insatiable thirst to help others learn the fine art of voice. I started teaching more, decided to write a book, and started a website and then things kind of took on a life of their own; let’s just say I started attracting a little bit of attention as time progressed. Within two years of launching my site, I was an author of several books, and had made several appearances on shows like Discovery Channel’s MythBusters. Needless to say, this spread my notoriety much further than the little town that I live in.

After my first TV show and first book were released, I began to receive many emails from singers around the world, asking me question after question…I was happy to help, but there are just so many hours in the day. I soon discovered I was basically giving “free” lessons via email to an over-abundance of hungry learners. I have a soft heart and tried to keep up with every person’s questions, but it was becoming overwhelming and I couldn’t continue spending hours as a free advice columnist. So I’d ask my hungry pen pals, “Why don’t you just schedule a lesson with me?” Surprisingly enough, most responded pleasantly, telling me they would love to have one-on-one lessons with me, but considering they lived hours or continents away, it just was never going to happen.

Sure, I’ve had singers fly in from around the world from places such as Taiwan and France, but these were a chosen few. And who can blame them. Flying is expensive! There had to be another way. So, before I had even answered the question my comrade had presented, he answered it for me. He said “Ever heard of Skype?” I hadn’t at the time, so he quickly introduced me. Apparently Skype was a new free online program that allowed you to talk with people over the Internet. You could even see them too! So, I signed up for my free account, dug my web cam out of the closet, and proceeded to chat with him online in real time via audio/video conferencing. WOW what a neat idea. He said “wouldn’t it be neat to use this to teach voice online?” I agreed and was super excited about the whole prospect…Thirty-seven minutes later, we hung up, I ate lunch, and then I tossed the online conferencing idea in the “to-do” list in the back of my mind.

Fast-forward a year later. I figured my buddy was going to explode on the “online” scene, and though I wanted in on the action, I was honestly too lazy to pursue it. I’ll admit, I am a late creeper with technology, and this Skype thing kind of scared me. One day, I asked him, “How goes the online biz?” Turns out, he canned it too. In fact, he said, “Hey, can you help ME get it together? I really want to teach online”. Unfortunately, I was the wrong guy to ask for help. I guess we were both just too skeptical about the whole “online teaching” thing. We were both questioning the process- “would it really work, would someone want to study through a virtual camera, would there be connection problems, latency, dropped calling, etc. So it seemed we both threw in the towel and were waiting for the other to take the lead. Oh well, so much for that idea. But a funny thing happens when you are destined to accomplish something and give up on it. Things keep popping up in your life that lead you back on track…

I had continued receiving emails from people wanting their ‘vocal’ questions answered, to which I replied, “book a lesson”…Right after my conversation with my friend about our failed idea, I started receiving some unusual replies to my “book your session” answer, “Okay, I’ll book a lesson. Do you teach online?” I kept saying no, but those same replies kept pouring in. So what did I do? I caved, I lied, and I said YES. I even remember the first time I said yes. I was scared silly. Will it work? Will they be happy with their online lesson? Too late to worry now, time to jump off the deep end.

So he booked a lesson, we setup a time, and we both signed into Skype and gave it a whirl. If I can sum up that first lesson in one word, it would be “Freedom”; I have discovered the freedom to teach anywhere and everywhere and anytime I choose, all by using a computer and web cam! I believe that first lesson went on for about 90 minutes although I strictly told my client that it was a 45-minute session. Don’t worry, I didn’t charge him double, I offered the extra time all because I was so excited to use this new tool. (Hey but there are ways to charge by the minute, but that’s one of my secrets. So much for a secret, I never use it, haha.) The lesson time flew by, I had a ball teaching, the student was thrilled, and since that time, we had at least several dozen lessons together. No doubt about it; I was hooked; I had finally found a workable answer for all of my email students:

“I live too far away”.

“No problem, I teach online!”

A new era was born.

This was in 2007. Now the majority of my lessons are online. Why? The accessibility and ease of online lessons cannot be beat. I don’t have to leave my house, and they don’t have to leave theirs. Do online lessons work? Hmmm, ask singers of bands like Dream Theater or Thriving Ivory. Both have studied with me via web cam and both have told the world how it has helped.

Hear me now. Online instruction IS the wave of the future, although I know some of you are probably still not convinced. Heck, it took me over a year to become convinced. People are still worried if online instruction is as good as the real thing. Well, there is nothing as good as the real thing (in-person) but this comes pretty darned close. I know concerns arise such as will you be able to see or hear the person, and will there be any latency issues (lag in time). The answer is Yes and No. Yes you could have audio/video/latency issues, but if you have a high-speed connection, whether it is a cable connection to your PC/MAC or an air-card for your laptop, a decent web cam, microphone, and headset, then you should be good to go. (Psst-I’d focus more on the quality of what is being taught as opposed to the technological side. But finding the right coach is the subject of another article.)

Bottom line; technology is getting better every day. Thanks to programs like Google Chat, you can jam live with your instructor in almost seamless real time. There are other programs besides Skype that work well too such as MSN Messenger, Oovoo, Tokbox, etc. And with each passing day, the technology gets better and better.

So if you are wondering if online lessons will work for you, I’ve done told you my answer- online instruction IS the wave of the future. In fact, I believe in it so much that I, along with several partners, have created an online teaching platform at rocksource360.com, where musicians can study guitar, bass, voice, keys, drums, etc. with real rock stars. Every rock star we bring on board has come to me with the exact same concerns, and as soon as I show them how seamlessly online teaching works, they are hooked for life, just as I was. If you want to expand you music career, you need to invest in yourself, so I urge you to find you an online coach and invest in your future!

Piano lessons always seem to bring up the same question from parents: “How long until my child is playing classical music?”

What I find is that many people who are not musicians have an idea that any child can be put in two years of piano lessons and suddenly playing something like a Mozart piano concerto. It’s as though years of fascination with the prodigies in TV commercials and YouTube has made people think somehow every five-year-old “should” be able to do the same, particularly THEIR five-year-old. The assumption that kids can be stuck in two years of lessons and automatically pop out playing adult-level classical music is dangerously inaccurate and causes much undo and unfair pressure on kids.

I’ve taught a few child prodigies and I know how fast they learn. However, the average piano lesson student is not going to achieve the same and it’s important for parents to know this. What happens when the average student signs up for piano lessons is they have to learn to play with one hand and then eventually two. To play something that is actual “classical music” written two hundred years ago by a professional composer who was also a master musician and writing for adults takes far more work than most people realize. It may take the average student between three and four years of piano lessons before they can even play easy classical music.

What I mean by “easy classical music” is the music that many composers during the 18th and 19th century wrote specifically for their students. Because of the expense of the lessons, most students were adults. Once in a while, one of these composers did teach a child, and those “children’s pieces” are just about the only thing written specifically for kids in the classical cannon. However, most of those kids were their students who were the most able, so the music written for them was beyond the level of the average player and written for the listening habits they had back then.

A young child today attempting to learn one of those pieces who has listened to what’s popular now will have no background of listening to draw from. When we put those classical pieces against a pop tune or a christmas carol of today, the classical piece ends up sounding extremely complex. Understand that for a child, playing unfamiliar music is particularly challenging because they have no reference to draw from, and music that’s complex is even more difficult for them. Classical music is also far more difficult for most people to learn because of the amount of reading and technical skill required to do it.

If you are interested in your student playing classical music like Mozart, Bach or Beethoven that you’ve heard before, understand it may be a few years of lessons before your child gets to the point where they can do that well. Remember that in their first year they are still learning to play competently with two hands and that it will take working up to the complexity of classical music.

When this whole scenario becomes interesting for me as the teacher is when I encounter parents who took “six months of lessons as a kid.” Six months of lessons does not make someone an experienced player. I’m always amazed that the parents who took that six months of lessons and did not achieve playing classical music somehow expect their child to be able to do so. Yet, one mother questioned me about this and said “my daughters should be playing Mozart by now.” No, they shouldn’t, and six months of lessons thirty years ago certainly did not make her an informed player! The parent had no idea what it actually takes to play classical music because she had never done it. She played the little kids songs with one hand, and then two, just like her kids. However, her perception of what her kids “should” be doing was wildly inaccurate and an unfair expectation to place on an eight and ten-year-old. It was then that I learned that this issue needed to be addressed with parents so they could have an understanding of how fast the average player progresses.

If you have questions about this, contact me through my website at http://anaheimpiano.com and I’d be happy to give you some assistance that addresses the players in your house. There’s not one solution that works for everyone, so I’d be happy to address any individual questions you may have.

If you have got just a little skill in playing the guitar and you feel like you want more of a challenge than just a beginner’s program it may be time to look into some advanced guitar lessons. There are programs available online that are targeted towards the more advanced players, and they have a different emphasis than the programs designed for beginners.

Rather than beginning with the vary basics and practicing chords repeatedly, the more advanced lessons will spread over more genres of music and present more of a test to the individual. A good lesson will include the music, audio, visual, and usually a video of the instructor playing the song and giving suggestions. This makes learning more challenging music much easier and faster, instead of practicing for hours alone trying to figure out how to play something, it is right in front of you on the computer.

Generally speaking, those that are looking into taking more advanced guitar lessons already know what type of music they want to play and what their options are. They will be able to piece together enough notes to play songs by now and the right program will build on those talents as well as keep the user involved and interested in the type of music that is being played. Players will be challenged with new styles, rhythm, and faster songs.

Advanced guitar lessons are for those who are serious about playing the guitar and are willing to try new things. These classes are not meant to teach boring music. They are meant to teach people how to play the music in a way that is as good as it sounds on the radio. Before you get to this stage, however, you will need to learn to rehearse the entire song in your head, and develop the skill of picturing what comes next. Advanced guitar lessons can teach you these skills.
